Aiptek was founded in 97, the company started with Tablet, writing tablets for drawing application. From there we did small size 4x3 to 6x4.5 till 12x9.

Video camera for internet conferencing was the second product, which took us into DSC at 100K pixels. That was a hit with PEN CAM. Pen Cam was sold over 2.5M pcs. Then DV was created for differentiating purpose so that we did not have to join the battle field of DSC competition.

DV, now we called Pocket DV, is actually a segment that AIPTEK came up. Now most companies have the item.

In addition to those, we also do camera modules for mobile phones. Customers include Motorola and ChiMei electronics. The Module business now is transferred to A-Optics, which is now partially owned by AIPTEK and other investors.

The company went listed in TAIEX in 2003, came from OTC in 2002.

It has subsidiaries in LA California, Dusseldorf, Germany, for production And its Pacific Wing for sales is in Taiwan covering Australian and ASEAN markets, as well as India and Middle East.

AIPTEK sold to chainstores in the USA such as Wal-Mart Stores, Target, Walgreen as well as Bestbuy. In Germany, we sold to LIDL and ALDI as well as other smaller chain like Pennymarkt. In France we were a supplier of Auchan and Carrefour. And many times we sold products on TV as well. That is in all markets including Taiwan, Thailand, Australia, Germany and the US.
